I started to reread the Southern Vampires in December and got around to part two recently. I haven't yet even read the last installment, but I figured I'd reread the whole series before finishing (even though I've heard less than flattering things about the finale.)
Reading Living Dead I sort of remembered why I enjoyed these books so much to begin with - it's the characters. Ms. Harris simply writes her characters well. They seem real, if not always relatable. This particular book was also funny, so much so that I even laughed out loud a couple of times.
These are still very light reads, but I don't really see how that's a bad thing.
